The Greater Barre Craft Guild (GBCG) has been holding its annual Winter Festival of Vermont Crafters on Thanksgiving weekend for the past 27 years. It's free. It's fun. Refreshements are downstairs. Come start your holiday shopping on the right foot!

The show attracts visitors from all over Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, and Canada because of the great selection of Vermont-made gifts. The GBCG chooses its participants very carefully to make sure that there's a diverse array of products, all well-made and all made in Vermont. Because of this, the show is a veritable shopping fiesta.

For the past 27 years people have streamed into the centrally located Barre City Auditorium to participate in the Winter Festival of Vermont Crafters. Come join us for our 28th year!

Prizes

Everyone loves prizes! That's why every crafter at the show donates an item for door prizes. Every visitor receives a ticket as they enter the auditorium, giving them the opportunity to win a door prize, several of which are drawn every half hour throughout the show.

The Sunday Shopping Spree has also become a favorite Craft Guild tradition. On Sunday afternoon tickets are drawn for shopping spree money. The winner receives "funny money," which they can use at any booth at the show to "buy" items for free! You have to be present in order to receive your "funny money."

While parents love the Shopping Spree, kids love Santa! That's why every Sunday Santa takes time from his busy holiday schedule and visits the Greater Barre Craft Guild. He makes his way through the aisles handing out candy canes to children.

Another tradition at the Greater Barre Craft Guild show is special entertainment by the Bell Ringers from the Barre Congregational Church. The Bell Ringers join us on stage Sunday morning with beautiful Christmas selections and more.

The Greater Barre Craft Guild also sponsors a raffle at the show, with proceeds going toward the Barre City Auditorium for maintenance and improvements. Over the years, the Greater Barre Craft Guild has donated several thousands of dollars to the auditorium, which have gone toward the sound system, the granite sign at the foot of the hill, and the installation of an elevator.
