Participating in the show: The Winter Festival of Vermont Crafters is held every year on the Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend at the Barre City Auditorium. Eligibility for this show is determined by the GBCG jury. We evaluate product quality, product appeal, and if it's Vermont-made. We limit the number of crafters in each craft category, but waiting lists are maintained if your category is currently filled. Jury sessions are held twice a year: once in the spring and again in the fall. For 2008 the jury dates fall on May 3rd and September 13th. You can print out the jury application and mail it in. |
Membership in the
Greater Barre Craft Guild:
Crafters are eligible to join the Greater Barre Craft Guild after participating successfully in the show for one year. The annual membership fee is $10.00. Members of the Greater Barre Craft Guild receive lower booth fees and voting privileges.
Members meet periodically, including Sunday morning before the show begins, to discuss various elements of the GBCG and to share joys and concerns with the group.
Members of the GBCG can
also take advantage of the Bernadette Eddy Scholarship, which assists college-bound
students. These students can be the children or grand-children of any of our
members.
The Bernadette Eddy Scholarship Fund:
The Bernadette Eddy scholarship was established in 2000 in honor of Bernadette Eddy, one of the founding "mothers" of the Greater Barre Craft Guild.
Since 2000 we have awarded six $500 scholarships to children or grandchildren of our crafters. If you have a college-bound child or grandchild who might be interested in this scholarship, please request a scholarship application.
Members will note a section on the show application for a voluntary donation to the scholarship fund. Your help in this worthwhile endeavor is greatly appreciated.
